Anil Srivatsa quits Meow FM

06 Jun 2009

Anil Srivatsa, chief operating officer of the the radio venture of India Today Group,  Meow FM, has resigned.

He is leaving for Bengaluru and plans to take a break for some time. He was with the 'for-women' radio station for almost three years now.

Srivatsa started out as a radio jockey when he was pursuing his degree in the US.

From radio, Srivatsa's next move was to television, where he dabbled in different functions such as production, management and syndication. He has also tried his hands at cable network, DTH and IPTV.

However, Srivatsa's passion for radio continued as he hosted a radio show, 'Anil ki Awaaz', from a studio inside his home, even while working fulltime for a television company. This programme has become the largest syndicated South Asian radio show in the US, securing Srivatsa a place in the Limca Book of Records.

Even as the COO of Meow, he continued to broadcast his show for US listeners from his home in New Delhi.

In fact, he was the only COO in the Indian radio fraternity to double up as a radio jockey, as he also hosted the show, 'Between the Sheets', on Meow FM.
