R Mukundan appointed national president, Employers’ Federation of India

R MukundanR Mukundan, managing director, Tata Chemicals Limited, has been appointed as the National President of the Employers' Federation of India (EFI), one of the bodies representing India at the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in Geneva.

Mukundan started his career with Tata Group, and has been associated with the company for the last 24 years. He joined Tata Administrative Service in 1990, after completing his MBA from FMS, Delhi University. He is an engineer from IIT, Roorkee, and an alumnus of Harvard Business School.

In the last two decades of his association with the Tata Group, Mukundan has held various positions of responsibility, including strategy and business development, operations, corporate quality, corporate planning, projects, etc. across the chemical, automotive and hospitality companies within the Tata Group.

He has been on the executive committees of various industry forums including Indian Chemical Council, Automotive Component Manufacturers Association, Alkali Manufacturers Association of India, The Council of EU Chambers of Commerce in India, and Chairman, CII Western Region Council.
