China’s Letv to hold first select preview event in India

Leshi Internet Information & Technology Co, (LeTV) the leading internet conglomerate will  hold its first select preview event in India and is expected to launch some of its exciting products in the market here today.

According to industry sources, LeTV might launch its Superphones, which had proved to be a global success, but the company has not offered any confirmation to the effect.

LeTV boasts an array of innovative products, from Superphones to Super TV to Supercycles to exciting ecosystem based products and accessories.

According to commentators, LeTV's entry into India would give local consumers an exciting and refreshing new alternative ecosystem based products consisting of platform, content, devices as also applications.

LeTV's diversified offerings pack competitive features at disruptive price points and an emphasis on a next-generation multi-platform.

LeTV would join the list of many Chinese companies that entered in the Indian smartphone market in the past couple of years, including Xiaomi, OnePlus, QiKU, Coolpad and Meizu.

The company is expected to launch its Le Max phlabet which comes with a 6.33-inch 2K (1440×2560 pixels) display. It has a pixel density of 464ppi with 0.8mm thin bezels. Powered by Qualcomm's 64-bit 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810 SoC it has 4GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB inbuilt storage variants.

It sports a 21-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), dual-LED flash, and a 4-UltraPixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The phablet runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with a custom EUI running atop.

In addition to the all-metal body, one of the salient features of the phablet is its fingerprint scanner at the back.

According to LeTV, its patented LeTouch technology can unlock the smartphone within 0.15 seconds with accuracy of 99.3 per cent. It also allows users to store up to five fingerprints.

The device is priced 2,999 yuan, which works out to roughly Rs30,500. According to commentators, Flipkart could be exclusive platform for LeTV to sell its smartphones in India.
