The Air India management sacked 30 more of its striking pilots today while four more returned to work as the stir entered the 14th day.

Air India has now shown the door to 101 of its pilots while another 400 pilots are still on strike.

The Indian Pilots Guild (IPG), which was derecognised by the airline and the government, remained stubborn.

While civil aviation minister Ajit Singh met leaders of 10 recognised unions of the airline today in a bid to find a way out of the crisis, did not invite the striking pilots for talks.

"I had convened this meeting to listen to their views. We discussed the current situation facing Air India, the turnaround and financial restructuring plans and the airline's future," Singh said after the meeting.

"I sought the support of all the unions to restore its financial health and its earlier 'Maharaja' status," the minister added.
