Jet Airways announces launch of second Dubai flight
29 Dec 2012
Jet Airways today announced the launch of its second flight to Dubai from New Delhi. The carrier's new day service would fly between India and the financial hub of United Arab Emirates from 18 January.
According to an airline spokesperson, this would complement the night flight presently operating between Delhi and Dubai, which would strengthen the presence of Jet Airways in the Indo-Gulf sector.
The flight would be operated by the airline with new generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft in twin class configuration of 16 business (Premiere) and 138 economy seats.
The spokeswoman went on to add that the flight would provide convenient connections to those travelling to and from northern India, as also from SAARC or ASEAN countries through the airline's important hub -- Delhi. With the launch, the airline would be introducing two new flights between India and Dubai in January.
The airline would introduce a new service from Mangalore in Karnataka to Dubai with six days a week flight.
The airline presently operates four flights daily from Mumbai in addition to a daily service from Delhi to Dubai.
Sudheer Raghavan, chief commercial officer of Jet Airways, said the company was happy to introduce a second service on popular Delhi-Dubai route, which had seen a steady growth in traffic. He added that the day-time flight would provide easy connectivity for guests, especially from north India, flying to and from the UAE.
The new service from Delhi would complement the carrier's existing daily Gulf operations to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Doha, Kuwait, Muscat and Sharjah, as well as to Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam from several cities in India, he added.
