Bangalore: Kingfisher Airlines will suspend operations between Bangalore and London, as well as its feeder service between Colombo and Bangalore, with effect from 15 September 2009, a company statement said. The decision was taken after an examination of booked loads and yields in the period September to November 2009.

All guests currently booked will be accommodated on the London to Mumbai services with appropriate connections, the statement added.

The airline also announced the launch of eight new international routes.

This month the Bangalore-headquartered carrier will launch two new routes – Mumbai-Singapore and Mumbai-Hong Kong. Both will be daily direct return services and will be operated with new Airbus A330-200 aircraft.

Other launches will include Mumbai-Bangkok, Mumbai-Dubai and Mumbai-Colombo, New Delhi-Bangkok and New Delhi-Dubai.

The airline has also applied to the ministry of civil aviation for permission to commence operations on the New Delhi-London sector. Should permission be granted, it will kick start Kingfisher's international operations out of New Delhi.

The airline connects to more than 50 destinations in India from Bangalore.

The launch of daily direct services in June, between Dubai and Bangalore, by Kingfisher had marked the airline's debut entry into the UAE market.
