NACIL seeks bids for lease of two A310-300 freighters

Mumbai: The National Aviation Company of India Limited (NACIL), which is the holding company formed as a result of the merger of Air India and Indian Airlines, is planning to invite global bids for leasing out two A310-300 freighters.
Company sources speaking to the media said that the company would be soon sending out a Request for Proposal (RFP) to lease out two of its A310-300 cargo aircraft. Earlier, Air India was planning to deploy these freighters as part of its air cargo service, but has opted now to lease them since it was unable to come up with a viable plan.
The company is yet to decide on their pricing, as the per – hour flying cost of the freighters is rather high. These two aircraft have earlier been used in passenger service operations.
