Star Alliance, GoI to review progress on Air India’s induction

New Delhi: Senior government officials and members of Star Alliance will review the progress on Air India's induction into the international airline association on 18 July.

 ''A meeting with Star Alliance (officials) would be held 18 July,'' said Arvind Jadhav, chairman-cum-managing director of Air India. ''Ministry officials, Air India representatives would be there in the meeting with Star Alliance.''

The airline has to meet a deadline of 31 July in which to clear all formalities that will enable it to join the Star Alliance network.

Earlier, in a meeting between both sides, the national carrier's representatives assessed the readiness of Air India to join Star Alliance by July 31, 2011.

The meeting is also expected to finalise the date of Air India's formal entry into Star Alliance.

Star Alliance, a network of international airlines, has 27 members, including Lufthansa, Air Canada, Singapore Airlines.
