On eve of talks, Iran flashes its own version of captured US drone

In a bemusing sidelight on the technology used by Western powers to control Iran's nuclear ambitions, officials in Tehran on Monday unveiled a domestically produced version of a US drone it captured more than two years ago.
Just ahead of fresh talks in the Austrian capital of Vienna over Iran's nuclear programme which officially begin today, Tehran on Sunday showed off a purported replica of the RQ-170 stealth drone at an exhibition at the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Forces' Central Command.
The unveiling was attended by Islamist Revolution leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
A US RQ-170 stealth drone was downed 4 December 2011 with ''minimal damage'' by the Iranian Army's electronic warfare unit while it was flying over the Iranian city of Kashmar, some 225 km from the Afghan border.
Exhibited along with the US drone replica were other Iranian drones, including the Shazed 129 and 125.
