AAI sets performance targets for 2007-08, signs MoU with Govt

New Delhi: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the ministry of civil aviation regarding the targets it expects to achieve in key performance areas for the year 2007-08. As part of the understanding, the AAI has committed itself to achieving a gross margin of Rs1850 crore for 2007-08, as against Rs1400 crore in 2006-07.

Amongst other thrust areas spelled out in the MoU are customer satisfaction (77%), and ISO certification of 11 airports. With respect to boosting efficiency in cargo processing, the AAI has committed itself to processing 96% international cargo meant for exports in two days, and 98% of imported international cargo in 24 hrs.

With respect to aviation safety, the organisation has committed itself to reducing the bird strike rate to below 0.50 per ten thousand aircraft movements and 'airprox' incidents to below 1.80, per one lakh aircraft movements.

The AAI has also identified 12 high priority projects for completion during 2007-08.
