Boeing allotted 75-acres of land in Nagpur for MRO

The Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) has decided to allocate 75 acres of land in Nagpur to global aerospace major Boeing in order to set up a $100 million maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) facility.
According to MADC managing director and vice chairman RC Sinha a decision on this issue was delayed because his organization was reluctant to part with 80 acres of land as demanded by Boeing originally. The land in question adjoins the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur.
Boeing had announced its decision to set up the MRO facility in the city last year April, as part of an agreement with the civil aviation ministry, under which national carrier Air India placed orders for 68 airliners with Boeing.
