Crayons and JWT to handle Congress party's election account
21 Jan 2009
The Congress party has appointed Crayons and JWT Delhi to handle the all-India advertising mandate for the oncoming polls. The account size has been pegged at Rs200 crore.
Last October Crayons had beaten JWT to bag the contract. Both had been shortlisted from a list of eight agencies, including Rediffusion, Percept Holdings, Madison, and Mudra, which had approached the party.
With the Lok Sabha elections slated for April-May 2009, both agencies have a hectic time ahead.
The plan by both agencies is to work on a 360-degree multimedia campaign comprising print, radio, TV, and OOH. The campaigns will break in March and continue till May, when the voting starts for the Lok Sabha elections.
It is learnt that no formal pitch was called for the account. The work that the two agencies would be doing would be split in a week's time.
