Jayanto Banerjee VP, Bates 141 quits, Vaasu Gavarasana takes over as EVP

Jayanto Banerjee, executive vice-president, Bates 141 Delhi, has decided to move on. Vaasu Gavarasana will take over as the new EVP, assuming office on November 30.
Gavarasana is a Singaporean expat who has spent most of his career with IPG agencies such as McCann and Lintas. Also, he has been a dotcom entrepreneur running a website named Udrool.com for the last two years. However, as the venture was struck by the recent recession,
he shifted his focus to India.
Banerjee started his career with Lintas and has worked for Euro RSCG for 13 years. He joined Bates 141 Delhi as the executive vice-president in October 2008.
On his year-long stint at Bates 141 Delhi, Banerjee told afaqs, "Last year has not been good in terms of business. With the slowdown in the economy, there has been lower business and higher client pressure on margin and fees.
