K7 computing appoints Publicis Ambience

Chennai-based K7 Computing has appointed Publicis Ambience as its creative agency. The agency will work closely with Publicis Groupe's PR firm Hanmer MS&L to form a media-neutral team that will attempt to build the K7 brand in India.
K7 is now set to take on the growing market for anti-virus products in India, having prepared for it with controlled test launches over the past 18 months. The company offers easy-to-use internet security products targeted at the Indian home PC user. The marketing budget is Rs8 crore.
Commenting on the development, John Devasahayam, executive director, K7 Computing said, "We were not looking for just an agency. We were looking for an integrated communication partner with strategic depth and willingness to think out of the box. The Publicis Ambience team and their philosophy was a perfect fit."

Founded in 1991, K7 Computing partnered with Sourcenext, one of Japan's fastest growing software publishing companies to become one of Japan's largest selling anti -virus brand in the home PC Segment with a subscription base of 8 million users.
