Neo Sports appoints McCann Erickson

McCann Erickson will now be handling the creative duties of Neo Sports Broadcast Ltd, promoters of Neo Cricket and Neo Sports.
Seven agencies participated in the pitch including Bates 141, Euro RSCG, TBWA, Publicis, Ignitee, Leo Burnett and McCann Erickson. The incumbent, Ogilvy & Mather, stayed away from the pitch. McCann Erickson will be responsible for both Neo Cricket and Neo Sports channels.
Neo Sports Broadcast Ltd was was looking for a distinct brand identity for Neo Cricket for 2009.
The account size, as per industry sources, is pegged at Rs 25 crore.
Neo Cricket is exclusively dedicated to cricket events, while Neo Sports showcases all sports, including football, tennis, golf, motor sport, badminton, among others.
Neo Cricket has the exclusive broadcast rights for all international and domestic cricket played in India. It also has rights for international cricket played in Bangladesh and Kenya as well as BCCI's offshore cricket series.
