RMAI awards held in Delhi

The third RMAI corporate awards were held at the PHD Chamber of commerce and industry auditorium on 27 November, 2010.
Impact Communications bagged 11 awards, out of a total of 29, including a special jury award. RC &M came in second with seven awards while the third position was shared by MART and ITC Limited ABD with three awards each. Ogilvy meanwhile bagged two awards.
The jury for the awards comprised of S Siva Kumar, chief executive, Agribusiness, ITC Limited, M G Parameswaran, executive director and CEO, Draftfcb + Ulka and Anand Sinha, country head, Abt Associates.
The third edition of the awards saw a total of 75 entries across 11 categories.
Jury member, Siva Kumar felt that the quality of the entries was high and reflected a good understanding of the rural consumer and environment.
Sam Balsara, CMD, Madison Group, who was the chief guest for the event, urged the rural marketing agencies to look for scale in rural communication.
He felt that marketers had achieved scale in rural sales but not in marketing communication and should look at commonalities in the rural markets to help achieve scale.
Rural Marketing Association of India (RMAI), formed in March 2005, aims to promote, improve, develop and further the cause of rural marketing in India.
