Salman Khan promotes Chlormint
10 Jun 2009
Salman Khan and his sibling Sohail have viewers in splits with their new Chlormint advertisement doing the rounds of television.
One of Italian confectioner Perfetti's flagship brands, Chlormint, has released a new ad with Salman Khan and Sohail Khan for added ''freshness and star appeal''. This commercial has been created by McCann Erickson, headed by the creative director Prasoon Joshi, and produced by Black Magic Motion Pictures.
This is the first time that Salman and Sohail have come together for a television commercial.
The previous campaigns of Chlormint like the Panwala, Swami, Lift and others have had the baseline dobara mat poochna (don't ask again).
This new campaign is an extension of this thought but with a new angle to it; if you ever want to risk asking the dreaded question hum Chlormint kyun khaate hain (why do we have Chlormint) , at least be prepared.
Hence a tweaked baseline Chlormint - bina tyaari ke dobara mat poochna (don't ask again, without being prepared) was seen in this commercial.
The advertisement goes like this:
The two brothers (aping school kids) are travelling on an aeroplane and are offered Chlormint by the air-hostess. They keep pestering her with questions till in exasperation she finally throws them out of the plane.
Salman is the brighter one and delivers the punch line: Chlormint - bina tyaari ke dobara mat poochna - as he has a parachute in his bag, while Sohail crashes.
Prasoon Joshi, regional creative director, South and South-East Asia, McCann Erickson decided to have Salman as with Salman's association with Chlormint, a lot of excitement is added to the brand.
