Super campaign by Neo Cricket

The campaign by Neo Cricket for the cricket season that begins in October 2009 is definitely worth looking out for.

The television campaign begins with a young man drooling over a beautiful girl on a number of instances. Finally, the girl notices when he is reading a newspaper and walks over to him and asks him to be her friend.

Viewers would expect a 'happy ending' to the episode with the man agreeing, but he smirks and asks in an absolutely comic way: Pagal hai kya? The girl is shocked at his response and immediately after that he is shown with his friends cheering at a cricket match.

The reason the girl is sidelined is because the young man will now be too preoccupied because of six months of cricketing action on Neo Cricket.

This is the first phase of its campaign called Dekh Lega India, a prelude to the six months of non-stop cricketing action starting next month.

The print ads were splashed in most dailies (national and regional), including The Times of India, The Economic Times, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi dailies.

The creative agency is McCann Erickson and Niranjan Kaushik is the creative director alongwith Akshay Kapnadak, worked on the campaign. The ad-film has been shot by Sanjay Shetty of Opticus Films.

The campaign will have a phase two in which there will be have a theme song written by Prasoon Joshi and sung by Kailash Kher. Also, a few TVCs with brand ambassador Harbhajan Singh will be a part of this phase.
