The Advertising Club elects new committee for 2013-14

The Advertising Club (Bombay) elected its new committee for the year 2013-14, at the body's annual general meeting held yesterday in Mumbai.
Pratap Bose, COO of DDB Mudra Group, has taken charge as president of the body, succeeding IPG Mediabrands' CEO Shashi Sinha, who will continue as immediate past president for two years.
Chief marketing officer, financial services, Aditya Birla Group, Ajay Kakar was re-elected as vice-president, while Raj Nayak, CEO, Colors will don the hat of secretary, a post earlier held by Bose.
Ajay Chandwani, Percept Limited director had been appointed as the joint secretary while Umesh Shrikhande of Taproot takes over as treasurer.
The other members of the committee included are Bhaskar Das (group CEO, Zee News), Harit Nagpal (MD and CEO, Tata Sky), Josy Paul (chairman, BBDO India), Kunal Jeswani (chief digital officer, India at Ogilvy & Mather), Punitha Arumugam (director, agency business at Google India), Ravi Rao (leader, South Asia at Mindshare) and Rohit Ohri (executive chairman, Dentsu India Group).
Sunil Lulla, CEO, Times Television Network and Prashant Mohanchandra, co-founder, AgencyDigi are co-opted members of the The Ad Club.
In an interview with DNA newspaper Bose spoke on his priorities as president and other matters. Bose said what he was looking to do was to institutionalise a very transparent and frank discussion on what needed to be done with all stakeholders.
He said he was a strong believer that if one had a process that had a buy-in from everyone and it was not a diktat, things would sort themselves out. He added if the processes were clear and there were no ambiguities, there should be no problems whatsoever.
He added over the next two years, the club would be looking at all forms of communication. He said there was talk of a two-day workshop for the entertainment industry and looking at people to help the club on film production.
