Zenith Optimedia bags Swarovski account
02 Nov 2009
Media agency ZenithOptimedia has bagged Swarovski's media planning and buying account for the Asia Pacific region. The incumbent agency was MPG. The agency will start working on the duties from January 2010.
The luxury brand has reduced the number of media agencies for the group from 14 to four in 2009.
The agency, part of the French advertising group Publicis, has been awarded the account without a pitch, based on the global crystal brand's relationship with the agency in Europe since 2008 (excluding UK).
When Swarovski called for a global pitch in 2008, ZenithOptimedia and Havas' MPG shared the account.
In 2008, Alliance Advertising, the Delhi-based media planning and buying agency, won the media duties for the Austrian brand known for its crystals, jewellery and accessories.
Early this year, ZenithOptimedia India launched Newcast, a specialist division to develop and execute non-traditional media solutions.
