Wagh Bakri launches premium tea brand

The Wagh Bakri Group has launched its premium tea brand, Good Morning tea in Mumbai. Vidya Balan unveiled the tea, which promises to be a delight for all tea connoisseurs.
Mumbai is the first launch market in Maharashtra. Subsequently, the brand will be available in key cities like Pune, Nagpur and Nasik.
Good Morning tea is primarily targeted towards quality conscious consumers who appreciate a judicious blend of taste, strength and aroma.
"The varieties for Good Morning tea have been bought from select top tea companies, who are exporters of tea with the ISO 9000 and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) certification, which assures top production practices in good and hygienic conditions," says Piyush Desai, chairman and managing director, Wagh Bakri Tea Group.
Desai said, "The tea has been carefully selected and tasted by top tea experts of our company under the supervision of our directors, who themselves are good tea tasters with many years of experience."
The tea is available in a packet of 250 gms, priced at Rs70 and a packet of 500 gms priced at Rs140, at select retail outlets across Mumbai. The group is planning to launch tea bags soon. The special feature of Good Morning's tea bags are that they are Staple Free. Wagh Bakri is the first tea company in India to have invested rupees five crores and imported the machine from Italy. "We have made this investment to provide our consumers with safe products," added Desai.
Presently, Good Morning tea is available in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Good Morning tea is also available in the form of tea bags in two flavors, Assam and Darjeeling Tea in these states. One of the largest tea producers and sellers in India today, with the launch of Good Morning, the Wagh Bakri Tea Group is aiming to double its market share by 2010.
