Chief minister Ashok Chavan to felicitate photo-journalists covering Mumbai terror attack

Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan will felicitate Mumbai's best photo-journalists who captured 13 of the most evocative images during the Mumbai terror attack in November 2008 at a felicitation ceremony on Wednesday, 18 February at The Press Club, Mumbai.
The annual photo contest of Mumbai's best images – Mumbai Moments - is organised every year by the Press Club of Mumbai and Sony Entertainment Television (SET) and the award-winning images are used for making a desk-top calendar.
The awards evening will include the inauguration of a week-long exhibition of the 40 outstanding images taken by our photographers, many of whom risked their lives in the line of duty.
The thee-member jury consisted of two well-known, senior photographers, Gautam Rajadhyaksha and Swapan Parekh, and Meenal Bhagel, executive editor, Mumbai Mirror.
The evening will include a special musical dedication to the 'Indian patriot' by Sony Entertainment Television.
The Chief Minister in his address is expected to dwell on the possible steps the stae government is taking to counter such events i the future.
