Mumbai: Moneycontrol.com say its new offering 'Markets on Mobile' has engaged over 1 lakh users in the first month of launch.
The Network 18 group's online publisher of stock market news says the company has added another exclusive feature by making the offer available to Blackberry users as well, enabling them to access their Moneycontrol portfolios whenever they choose.
The Markets on Mobile service has features such as news, markets statistics, indices, portfolios, detailed listings of stocks and watchlist real-time and 'Live'.
According to the company, the most impressive part of the service was the customised and informative feature of Portfolio Service, where users check their investments in stocks, funds and other investment vehicles. A close second is the company stock quote page, where users find out the current positions on a stock. The Market on Mobile service, according to the company, has been highly appreciated by stock investors.
"This application was specially developed by us keeping in mind the modern-day investor who is always on the go but, still wants to keep a track of his / her investments and market trends," says Surya Mantha, CEO, Web18, says. "Going forward we expect this user base to only increase as the GPRS services get cheaper and more and more of our loyal Moneycontrol.com visitors upgrade to Blackberry-enabled handsets".
Moneycontrol estimates that with the retail investor base growing, it is only a matter of time before the current base is doubled for the Markets on Mobile service.
