Coffee Day diversifies in to hospitality, launches The Serai

Mumbai: Asia's largest integrated coffee conglomerate, the Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading Co. Ltd, (ABCTCL) which operates the coffee chain Coffee Day, has diversified into the hospitality sector with the launch of a luxury resort and spa under the brand name, The Serai.
The property is located at Coffee Day's 70-acre coffee estates in Chikmagalur andoffers has 30 designer villas with amenities such as private pools, picturesque views, and exclusive Spa facilities.
The company says The Serai offers exotic Oriental, Continental or Indian menus and is targeted "at connoisseurs, who prefer luxurious indulgence to shun their business suits".
A P Nanaiah, president, Coffee Day Resorts "Since we are already in the service industry, this is a natural extension of offering an international experience albeit in the luxury market catering to an older target audience."
ISO 9002 certified ABCTCL says it has over 10,000 acres of owned and managed estates.
