Still grasping at straws in seeking the culprits for the blast outside the Delhi High Court on Wednesday, investigative agencies have detained two persons in Alawar, Rajasthan, on suspicion of their involvement.

Meanwhile there have been as many as four emails claiming responsibility for the attacks, and the National Investigative Agency (NIA), in primary charge of the probe, is trying to figure out if any of them is genuine – as all of them can't be authentic, and some are certain to be mischievous pranks.

Meanwhile Gujarat has been added on the list of states on high alert after the third e-mail warned that Ahmedabad would be the next target.

On Friday, police arrested an 18-year-old student in Jammu & Kashmir, who is said to be responsible for the first email claiming responsibility for the blast, purportedly from the Harkat-ul-Jihad Islami (HuJI). This was sent to TV news channels soon after the blast.

In the second e-mail received on Thursday, the rival Indian Mujahideen claimed responsibility. This has been traced to West Bengal, and the proxy server for a third e-mail to Moscow. It was signed by one Chhotu Minani.

On Friday, the Delhi Police received another e-mail from 'I'll kill Indians @ yahoo.com', sent as a numeric code. The mail threatened to attack Ahmedabad.
