PM urges BRICS leaders for stronger global action against terror

Speaking on the sidelines of the G-20 leaders meeting at Turkey, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told a conclave of the leaders of the BRICS alliance that the G20 should promote stronger global action to address security challenges.

He mooted a comprehensive global strategy to put an end to finance, supplies and communication channels of the terrorists and stopping the flow of arms and explosives to terrorist groups.

Modi urged for the creation of a special international legal regime to disrupt terrorist activities and the early adoption of 'comprehensive convention on international terrorism.

He said cooperation in preventing the use of cyber networks by terrorist groups would curb the ability of terror groups to use the social media to attract recruits and finances.
