The Central Bureau of Investigation has summoned Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) president N Srinivasan, who is also managing director of India Cements Ltd, for questioning in connection with the disproportionate assets cases against YSR Congress head Jaganmohan Reddy, reports from Hyderabad said today.
Srinivasan has been asked to appear next week at the CBI office in the Andhra Pradesh capital here for questioning on investments by India Cements in Bharathi Cements and Jagathi Publications, companies promoted by Jagan Reddy.
The CBI has alleged that India Cements invested in these companies in an illegitimate quid pro quo when Jagan's late father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was the chief minister. In return, the two plants of the company in Andhra Pradesh received huge water allocations.
Apart from Srinivasan, other senior officials of the company have also been summoned. The agency has also asked officials of some other cement companies to appear for questioning.
Reports citing CBI sources said the cement companies could be asked about water and limestone allocations made during the tenure of 'YSR' as chief minister.
The CBI, in its three charge sheets filed against Jagan and others, has alleged that he and his father had hatched a conspiracy to defraud the government with, Jagan influencing his father to grant favours to various investors in Jagan's businesses.
