Consumer price inflation for agricultural and rural labourers falls to 8.43 and 8.45 per cent in October

Consumer price inflation (CPI) rate based on the monthly consumer price index numbers for agricultural and rural labourers stood lower at 8.43 per cent and 8.45 per cent, respectively, in October 2010 against 9.13 per cent and 9.34 per cent, respectively, in the previous month (September 2010).
Consumer price inflation rate for agricultural and rural labourers stood at 13.73 per cent and 13.51 per cent, respectively, during October2009.
The all-India consumer price index for agricultural and rural labourers (Base: 1986-87=100) for October 2010 increased by 4 and 3 points, respectively, to 566 points for agricultural labourers and 565 points for rural labourers.
The increase or decrease in the index varied from state to state. The index for agricultural labourers increased between 1 and 17 points in 17 states and decreased by 1 to 2 points in 3 states.
Haryana with 641 points topped the index whereas Himachal Pradesh with the index level of 492 points stood at the bottom.
The index for rural labourers increased by 1 to 18 points in 17 states and decreased by 1 to 2 points in three states.
