Anna Hazare Anti-corruption campaigner Anna Hazare and his team members who were criticised by elected members of Parliament for undermining Parliament's role in political democracy could well try to uphold Parliament's legitimacy from within by forming a new political party to enter it.

Hazare's decision to disband the movement through his blog, has come as a surprise to most of his supporters.

N Santosh Hegde, former Supreme Court judge, said in Bangalore that he was surprised by the decision to disband the group.

"Read Anna's blog. Do not know what all it means. For we all had very useful preparatory meeting with Annaji wherein he gave useful guidance," key Team Anna member and former police officer Kiran Bedi tweeted.

Hazare, who was criticised by many for his 3 August announcement for forming a political party, said in his blog: "Today we end the work of Team Anna''.

Hazare is now back in his home and will be back in New Delhi on 9 August to join Baba Ramdev's protest against corruption.
