NSIC sets up office at Surat

The National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) has announced the opening of a new office in Surat, to enhance its service delivery to the existing and aspiring entrepreneurs and further spread its reach to the potential MSMEs.
 
Dinsha Patel, minister of state (independent charge) of the ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises, who inaugurated the office on Tuesday, said the move will help NSIC to boost investment in a developing region.

The new office at Surat will play a significant role in spreading the awareness of various schemes and programmes for the micro, small and medium enterprises in this region and attend to their problems, he said.

The NSIC (Surat office) will also help in providing required information about the vendors and technology suppliers to the first generation entrepreneurs as well as existing small enterprises, the release said.

NSIC already has an established office at Ahmedabad, which is currently facilitating the MSME sector through various schemes like raw material assistance, performance and credit rating, government purchase registration, infomediary services, bank credit facilitation scheme etc since 1990.

Over the last six months, NSIC's Ahmedabad office has registered 203 new units under the single point registration scheme while 164 new units have obtained membership under infomediary services. NSIC has also organised six intensive campaigns in different parts of the state.

NSIC, which is engaged in promoting, aiding and fostering the growth of MSME sector in the country for the past 53 years, has promoted and nurtured a large number of first generation entrepreneurs to establish their small enterprises.

With more than 110 offices in India, NSIC has been promoting first generation entrepreneurs and helping existing small enterprises in modernisation, up-gradation of technology, quality consciousness, strengthening linkages with large and medium enterprises and enhancing exports of their projects and products.
