Per capita real income to grow 5.6 per cent to Rs38,005

Per capita real income (at 2004-05 prices) in the country is estimated to grow at around 5.6 per cent to reach Rs38.005 during the current financial year, from Rs35,995 in 2010-11, which in turn is estimated to have grown 6.4 per cent year-on-year.

CSO expects per capita income in the country at current prices to expand 14.3 per cent to Rs60,972 during 2011-12, from Rs53,331 during 2010-11.

Net national income (NNI) at factor cost, also known as national income (at 2004-05 prices) is expected to rise 7 per cent to Rs45,68,249 crore during 2011-12, from Rs42,68,715 crore during the previous fiscal, which in turn had grown 7.8 per cent year-on-year.

NNI at factor cost at current prices is anticipated to grow 15.9 per cent to Rs73,28,878 crore during 2011-12, from Rs63,25,039 crore during 2010-11.

The CSO has also released advance estimates of expenditures of the GDP at current and constant (2004-05) prices.

The estimates of various components of expenditure on gross domestic product, namely, consumption expenditure and capital formation, however, are measured at market prices – both constant and current.
