A Raja, Suresh Kalmadi and Kanimozhi rehabilitated; appointed members of House panels

The UPA government at the centre has rehabilitated the main accused in the 2G scam, former minister A Raja and the main architect of the Commonwealth Games scam Suresh Kalmadi by appointing them as members of two separate Parliamentary standing committees.
Raja, who represents DMK in the Lok Sabha, has been nominated to the Parliamentary standing committee on energy.
Congress MP Kalmadi has been nominated to the standing committee on external affairs.
Kanimozhi, an MP and daughter DMK supreme M Karunanihi, who was also in jail in connection with the 2G spectrum allocation scam, has been nominated to the standing committee on home affairs.
Raja, who was jailed in connection with the 2G scam on 2 February last year, is on bail from 15 May this year.
Kalmadi, who was in jail for about nine months, was released on bail on 19 January this year.
