Kishtawar issue disrupts parliament

The Bharatiya Janata Party slammed Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in parliament today, calling him factually incorrect after Abdullah accused the BJP of hypocrisy.
The issue was raised as soon as it met for the day. In Lok Sabha, the BJP's Yogi Adityanath demanded that an all-party delegation visit Kishtwar, rocked by communal violence over the weekend.
The junior home minister of J&K, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, resigned on Monday over allegations that he had a hand in the violence.
The state government has announced that the Amarnath Yatra, halted for three days, will resume from Jammu today, with army convoys escorting the yatris.
Mobile phone and internet services remained suspended throughout the state for the third day today.
Opposition parties allege that the state government was warned by intelligence agencies of escalating tension, and the army was called in too late to help restore law and order.
