Delhi Metro opens Vishwavidyalaya-Azadpur-Jehangirpuri line for traffic

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) today opened the Vishwavidyalya-Azadpur-Jehangirpuri section as also inaugurated the Azadpur metro station, construction of which was undertaken by Parsvnath Developers Limited (PDL).
Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit inaugurated the new Metro line.
The new Metro station, built on a public-private partnership basis by DMRC along with Parsvnath Developers, at a cost of Rs65 crore, was completed in the stipulated time, Parsvnath said in a press release.
''We are very proud to be associated with DMRC in these prestigious infrastructure ventures in the capital city. It is my firm belief that Parsvnath would live up to the expectations in delivering quality within stipulated time frame in all future ventures. We look forward to be a part of DMRC to construct malls and station boxes as it expands its routes,'' said Pradeep Jain, chairman of Parsvnath Developers.
PDL has also developed a shopping mall at the Azadpur Metro station.
Parsvnath, meanwhile, bagged contracts from DMRC for construction of important Dhaula Kuan Metro Station and Commonwealth Village site Metro station. Parsvnath is also developing 13 Metro malls out of which it has already completed 7, the release added.
