Metro and Monorail to get hi-tech security: MMRDA
11 Aug 2010
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) today announced that it will provide hi-tech security to the Metro and monorail stations stated to be completed next year.
The stations will be manned by a central surveillance system, which will be connected to a security control room to track all movements at the stations.
Also, the coaches will have CCTV cameras installed inside as well to keep a tight vigil on the daily proceedings and an advanced passenger-driver communication system that will allow commuters to communicate with the driver in case of an emergency.
S V R Srinivas, additional metropolitan commissioner, MMRDA, said, ''There will be a seamless security that includes among other things, access controls, intrusion, detection systems, CCTVs, hotlines and trained security personnel.''
