Canada has invited Indian entrepreneurs to set up manufacturing units in that country, even as Canada has offered its expertise in the Infrastructure sector to India.

Minister commercial at the Canadian high commissioner's office, Sara Wishaw, said Indian companies, known for low-cost manufacturing, should come to Canada and invest in manufacturing sector there.

"We are looking for partnerships in engineering services," she said, adding, "India is a huge knowledge economy and its prowess in science and technology, ITES and services are well recognised."

Meanwhile, the Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) has organised an India Show along with the Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show in Toronto, Canada. More than 150 Indian engineering companies, including major Indian companies like Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Heavy Engineering Corporation, Bajaj International and Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles, are expected to participate in the India Show from 17-20 October 2011.

So far the biggest show of Indian engineering companies in Canada, the show will try to promote 'Brand India' in the North American continent.

The India Show will be organised jointly by EEPC India, ministry of commerce and industry and India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF) with support from the Indian high commission in Ottawa and the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.
