China ‘second-class enemy' of India: Ratan Tata
09 Jul 2012
Tata Group chairman, Ratan Tata outlined his assessment of the evolving India-China relationship and where he thought is should be heading in a free wheeling interview with a TV channel.
According to Tata, China had become a ''second-class enemy'' due to its arms assistance to Pakistan.
He added, China's economic strength overpowering India was not a real concern.
"China has of course been assisting and arming Pakistan, which is like a red flag to India and that already makes it a second-class enemy," he said.
Describing the India-China relationship as "Not adversarial, but it is not the best", Tata, however, added, "You know, China has never done anything adversarial to India, and India, I think, has been more concerned about China's economic strength overpowering India's, which we really don't see."
Replying to a question as to whether he was worried about China, he said he said he was not, and wished India could find a way to be allies with China.
