Opinion polls support Obama

According to a CNN/Opinion Research Corp poll released on Tuesday, nearly six in 10 respondents, or 58 per cent, think Obama has a clear plan to get the economy back on track.
That figure is more than double the 24 per cent who think that Republicans in Congress have a clear plan on the economy.
The poll was released as the Obama administration, which started on 20 January, is reaching its 100-day anniversary.
On Obama's promise for bipartisan cooperation, 62 per cent of respondents said that the president was "doing enough to cooperate with the Republicans in Congress," compared to 37 per cent for Republican cooperation with Obama.
The result of the Tuesday poll coincided with a separate poll conducted by Gallup, which found that 71 per cent of Americans have a "great deal" or a "fair amount" of confidence in Obama to do or recommend the right thing for the economy.
However, the Gallup poll did not show the same amount of public confidence in the Congress, with only 51 per cent saying they had a "great deal" or a "fair amount" of confidence in Democratic congressional leaders, compared to just 38 per cent for Republican leaders.
