Basic info
The state of Kerala lies at the south-western
tip of the Indian peninsula. With two international
airports at Trivandrum (the capital city) and Cochin,
it is well connected to countries around the world.
The Kozhikode airport caters to domestic flights and
those from the Arabian countries. The state has good
rail and road connectivity to other parts of India.
English is widely spoken and understood by the population,
which is an even mix of vegetarians and non-vegetarians.
Dry and wet would be the two seasons with just a touch
of chill during December-January. The heat during
the dry season can be oppressive and the monsoon really
long (heavy during June-September and light during
September-December). However, the natural beauty of
the state more than makes up for these flea bites
with a long coastline with clean beaches, mountainous
regions, lush forests, green flatlands and an abundance
of water bodies.
