TCG Lifescience acquires lab informatics company

LabVantage Solutions, the laboratry informatics arm of research services company, TCG Lifesciences, has acquired the SQL LIMS business of Applied Biosystems for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition is part of TCG's global expansion plans to increase its base in the laboratory informatics market.
Applied Biosystems is a part of Life Technologies Corporation (LTC), a global biotechnology tools company providing premier systems, consumables, and services for scientific researchers around the world.
Commenting on the deal, TCG Lifesciences founder chairman, Purnendu Chatterjee said, "this also facilitates LabVantage's growth in the forenscics and human identification markets and bolsters the strategic expansion plans of TGC Lifesciences."

TCG Lifescience is part of The Chatterjee Group (TCG), which has operations in India, Europe, Japan and the United States.
It has interest in knowledge intensive industries, such as information technology, IT enabled services, life sciences, real estate and petrochemical.
The company collaborates with global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to service their multi-disciplinary research efforts through its three units Chembiotek (discovery research), Clininvent (clinical research solutions) and Labvantage (enterprise informatics).
