China's Sany Group sets up machinery manufacturing facility in Pune

China-based, Sany Group, manufacturer of construction machinery with a product line ranging from concrete pumps, concrete mixer trucks, batching plants, motor graders to cranes, rollers and pavers, set up its first manufacturing facility in Pune.
At the 3.3 lakh square meter plant, the company's second manufacturing facility in Asia, the company will produce and develop new construction machinery technologies and custom tailor these to suit the Indian market.
Liang Dong, managing director, Sany India, said India was a key market for the company and like in China infrastructure development was central to India's new global dynamic.
He added that given the positive response from existing clients and its expansion into new markets, the company's India facility would significantly enhance its ability to deliver industry-leading, real time solutions and help it to continue to meeting the demands of its rapidly growing customer base both nationally and internationally he added.
The company said the new facility would include a comprehensive manufacturing set-up, product design as also a customisation centre, sales, renting, service, storage, logistics and a full fledged R&D centre. At its India facility, the company will manufacture trailer-mounted concrete pumps, truck-mounted concrete pumps, concrete mixer trucks, concrete batching plants, and motor graders and cranes.
According to the company, India's booming construction equipment market was expected to touch $12-13 billion in 2015.
