Haier forays into new appliances category; launches electric Spa water heaters

Haier Appliances announced its entry into a new business category as it launched electric spa water heaters in India. The Chinese appliances maker sdaid the spa was specially designed for Indian consumers, after extensive research of consumer needs in the domestic market.
Haier water heaters command over a third of the market share in China, one of the largest consumer markets in the world, Haier said in a press release.
Speaking on the occasion, Pranay Dhabhai, whole time director and COO, Haier Appliances India, said, "The challenge is to keep our global image intact, yet adapt the product to suit the local Indian market. Energy efficient products, which qualify the international quality standards, have been introduced in the Indian market to ensure that we bring the best world-class products for our consumers. Our latest addition, Haier Spa water heater fully responds to all of these characteristics and endorses our philosophy of inspired living.''
Haier spa water heaters come in stylish, sleek, innovative and compact designs with convenient features and a unique Haier patented 'SafeCare Technology' that ensures protection for the user from any power shocks due to leakage of electric current on the water heater or faulty grounding wire system. Thick PUF insulation reduces standing heat loss and power consumption. Dual imported thermostat and highly efficient heating element ensures the dual advantage of getting quick hot water as well as constant hot water at a consistent temperature.
Anurag Srivastava, PGH-water heater division, Haier Appliances India, said, "Innovation, aesthetics, functionality, durability, eco-compatibility, clear user-friendly functions and safety were the criteria kept in mind while designing Spa water heaters.''
The 'SafeCare Technology' is in accordance with IEC standards and many countries are considering it as a safety standard for various appliances, he said.
According to him, Haier Spa water heaters are designed for high working pressure of eight bars, which is more than double of ordinary water heaters and ideal for high rise buildings or where pressure pumps are used.
The product will be available in two variants, electronically controlled P series and M series with mechanical controls. The Spa P series is available in 15, 25 and 35 litres and M series in 10, 15 and 25 litres. The complete premium range would be available in all leading stores across India and will carry a price range of Rs6,500 to Rs10,260.
