IRS Q3 2010: Dainik Jagran most read daily, TOI gains, Daily Thanthi drops

The 3Q results of the Indian readership survey shows that barring one publication Daily Thanthi, the top 10 publications have recorded growth in their average issue readership (AIR) figures.
Also, there is no change in the order of the top publications. Dainik Jagran and Dainik Bhaskar lead the pack, followed by Hindustan, Malayala Manorama and Amar Ujala.
Dainik Jagran, the number one daily, has registered a marginal gain of 25,000 in AIR with an AIR of 1.59 crore, while the second positioned Dainik Bhaskar added 1.85 lakh average issue readers this time, reducing the gap between itself and Dainik Jagran to 24.62 lakh from 26.22 lakh in the last quarter.
Hindi publication, Hindustan is at number three, with an AIR of 1.08 crore, having added more than 9 lakh readers while fourth-ranked Malayala Manorama recorded an AIR of 99.27 lakh in the latest quarter.
Amar Ujala has retained its number five position, and registered a gain of 1.66 lakh in AIR, after recording a 74,000 drop in AIR last quarter.
Marathi daily Lokmat, at number six, recorded an AIR of 78.09 lakh, registering a marginal increase of 41,000 in the last quarter.
