Disney Publishing Worldwide, India Today Group ink deal for Disney-content magazines

Disney Publishing Worldwide India, a division of The Walt Disney Company India, today signed a multi-year license agreement with the India Today Group for publishing and distributing licensed Disney content by way of magazines in India.
''With India Today's market and consumer insights and our strengths in storytelling we aim to provide kids and families more access to our content, where and when they want it,'' said Roshini Bakshi, vice president, consumer products, publishing and retail, Walt Disney Company India.
Disney magazines will be available on stands and through subscriptions for a price range of Rs50 to Rs100, and will feature a mix of single edition, monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly editions, the company said in a statement.
The content will be based on some of the popular franchises including Disney Princess, Disney.Pixar Cars, Art Attack, Disney Junior and others.
The kids publishing business in India is currently growing at 25 per cent year-on-year and the estimated market size is USD 1.15 billion, the company said in a statement.
Disney Publishing Worldwide is the largest children's publisher in the world, with 274 million copies of children's magazines sold worldwide and 120 million children's books sold each year. The company has been producing comics since 1930, with over 340 regular titles read in more than 80 countries around the globe. DPW is based in New York City.
The India Today Group is a diversified media group with 36 magazines, 7 radio stations, 4 TV channels, 1 newspaper, multiple web and mobile portals, a leading classical music label, book publishing and premier educational institutes.
