HotSpot Retail in exclusive tie-up with RIT for mobile technology

HotSpot Retail, B K Modi's multi-brand mobile and technology retailing venture, today announced an exclusive tie-up with Research and Innovation Technologies (RIT), Duba-based start-up information technology company.
Through this association, RIT is venturing into the Indian market and will offer a suite of its cutting-edge mobile applications to the Indian consumers. This suite of applications will be sold under the umbrella brand 'Orbit' and will offer a host of features including mobile tracker, mobile protect, handset back-up and a beep-free dictaphone, said a press release from the company.
Announcing the tie-up, Sanjeev Mahajan, CEO, HotSpot Retail, said, ''Indian consumers have the purchasing power and inclination to own good handsets. The powerful and innovative mobile application from RIT will help today's consumers' secure their handsets and use them smartly.''
Commenting on the launch, Naushad Abdulla, CEO and MD, RIT, said, ''An outcome of an investment of 50 man-hours, 'Orbit' is a suite of technologically advanced mobile applications operational on 2.5 G and 3 G mobile handsets, available at a very competitive price. Orbit will be exclusively available across the country through the nation-wide chain of HotSpot. We plan to sell more than 10 million applications in the first fiscal.''
The four applications, which will be available as part of 'Orbit' suite will include:
- Orbit Record: Two-way beep-free voice recorder plus dictaphone
- Orbit Tracker: Personal GPS tracker (for on-the-ground employee movements)
- Orbit Protect: Mobile anti-theft software with advanced GPS
- Global Phone Backup: Phone book contacts, tasks and calendar backup and restore software
