Global Semiconductor Alliance and India Semiconductor Association form alliance

Mumbai: The Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) and the India Semiconductor Association (ISA) have teamed up to form an organisational alliance. The alliance teams up global and regional efforts for the benefit of the semiconductor community.
The GSA and ISA will provide ongoing co-support to each other's initiatives and activities, and will focus on fostering business relationships among member companies. They will also promote international exhibitions, conferences and seminars.
The Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) mission is to accelerate the growth and increase the return on invested capital of the global semiconductor industry by fostering a more effective ecosystem through collaboration, integration and innovation.
GSA addresses the challenges within the supply chain including IP, EDA/design, wafer manufacturing, test and packaging to enable industry-wide solutions. Providing a platform for meaningful global collaboration, the alliance identifies and articulates market opportunities, encourages and supports entrepreneurship, and provides members with comprehensive and unique market intelligence.
The ISA is the trade body representing the Indian semiconductor driven industry. ISA has around 130 members from the semiconductor driven industry from India and abroad. These include design companies, manufacturing companies and others in the ecosystem like venture funds, legal and IP firms.
ISA objectives are geared towards building global awareness for the Indian semiconductor driven industry and supporting its growth through focused activities. The ISA has played a prominent role in supporting the Government of India in the Semiconductor Policy.
Speaking at the signing of the alliance, S Janakiraman, chairman of ISA, said ''We look forward to an expanded and long-term rewarding partnership with GSA and its members. Our organisations will work with each other on a range of activities to demonstrate our mutual interest and value to support the semiconductor industry.''
''We have collaborated with the India Semiconductor Association on several initiatives since 2005 are pleased to officially form an organizational alliance with ISA,'' said Jodi Shelton, co-founder and executive director of GSA. ''Future collaboration will bring increased value and resources to our global semiconductor members.''
These efforts will benefit the network for both organizations. In addition, GSA and ISA will exchange industry report and research information and assist one another with trade delegations among their members.
