Website hosting services provider GoDaddy has announced its expansion in hosting services with the launch of cloud servers and cloud applications for small businesses in India.

The new offerings would help web developers to quickly build, test and scale cloud solutions for their SMB customers.

With provisioning of 54 seconds and less, the GoDaddy cloud servers allowed developers to build, test and re-provision the virtual instances instantly.

This 'pay-as-you-go' utility billing offering provided the flexibility and control of hourly billing and monthly limit making it affordable for customers. The easy to use solution was available at an industry leading price of Rs 0.50 paisa per hour.

"The launch of Cloud Servers from GoDaddy will enable India's web developers with affordable and intuitive solutions to better serve their customers and grow their businesses", said managing director and vice-president of GoDaddy India and Australia, Rajiv Sodhi.

The platform is built on OpenStack to ensure highest scalability and security for individual developers and technologists and is powered by  purpose-built KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) virtualisation.

Also, the SSDs (solid-state drives) across the board and fast I/O (Input/Output) ensured excellent overall performance.

GoDaddy Cloud Servers feature integration with Cloud Applications powered by Bitnami, which provides one-click optimised installation of around 120 applications ranging from content management systems like WordPress and Drupal, to customer relationship management tools like Odoo and OpenERP as also eCommerce applications like OpenCart and Magento.

Sodhi told yourstory.com that a lot of Indian entrepreneurs had a wrong perception about the internet a few years ago- ''that it is tough, complex and hence not for me.'' So GoDaddy aimed to simplify the process so that the mass market could leverage the power of the internet.

Andrew Low Ah Kee, executive VP, GoDaddy International noted that GoDaddy was now bullish on India as approximately 26 per cent of the company's revenue came from the country. India was also the fastest growing market in terms of new customers signing up.
