Edelweiss Capital emerges title sponsor for ICL

Mumbai: Edelweiss Capital Ltd will be the title sponsor for the Indian Cricket League (ICL) tournament, which is scheduled to commence on 9 March.
The series has been titled 'Edelweiss 20s Challenge'.
Speaking at the occasion, Kapil Dev, chairman of the executive board of ICL, said, ''We are looking for sponsors who believe in us, I am not impressed by big figures of Rs300-400 crore, so I don't want to announce those.''
Rashesh Shah, Chairman, Edelweiss Group, said that they would like the association to continue ''for eternity,'' as the association with ICL would help Edelweiss to leverage brand value.
Teams from Lahore and Ahmedabad have been added to the list, taking the total number to eight. The Edelweiss 20s Challenge series will comprise 34 matches, to be played at Chandigarh (Panchkula), Hyderabad and Gurgaon. The series will be broadcast on Ten Sports and Zee Sports.
