Shree Reunka Sugars consolidated Q2 profit jumps three-fold to Rs101 crore

Shree Renuka Sugars on Friday reported nearly a three-fold jump in consolidated profit at Rs101.2 crore for the quarter ended 30 September.
The consolidated total income of the sugar producer rose to Rs1,087.6 crore during the fourth quarter ended September from Rs635 crore in the corresponding period a year ago, the company said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Shree Renuka Sugars' net profit surged 66.92 per cent to Rs223.50 crore on a 33.19 per cent increase in net sales to Rs2,822.50 crore in the year ended September 2009 over the year ended September 2008.
On a standalone basis, the company posted a net profit of Rs48.2 crore during the September quarter as against Rs12.1 crore for the corresponding period a year earlier.
Net sales and income from operations rose 58.78 per cent to Rs886 crore during the reporting period as compared to Rs558 crore reported in the corresponding period a year ago.
The equity capital of the company is Rs31.69 crore and the face value of its share is Re1.
The company manufactures sugar, power and ethanol and produces refined sugar for direct consumption and industrial usage in Europe and Africa.
