Watchmaker Movado’s Connect to launch this fall for $495
28 Mar 2017
The minimalist US watchmaker Movado announced a few weeks ago that it would release an Android Wear watch, but failed to offer any pictures of the device. Now that the Movado Connect had been unveiled it bears the unmistakable look of a Movado watch.
The announcement was made at Baselworld 2017, but currently there were only a few details, it had an edge-to-edge crystal face with an always-on display, which could mean it used Amoled technology.
It had very clean lines and Movado's signature Museum dial. However, one can change the face to whatever one wanted.
The Connect will be offered in five men's styles and would launch this fall starting $495.
Meanwhile, Movado's third smartwatch announcement from Baselworld 2017 was the Tommy Hilfiger TH/24/7You, which bears the classic Tommy Hilfiger brand look.
The TH24/7You, will have Android Wear 2.0 software, which meant it would be up to date along with the rest of the watches that had been announced so far this year, and it would have access to things like Google Assistant, the Play Store, and enhanced fitness features.
It will however, not come with a heart rate sensor so it probably would be the watch to go for if one was looking for something to keep tabs during workouts. It would also not feature NFC connectivity which meant one could not use the TH24/7You to make Android Pay.
According to commentators, it was not stated it would have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options. However, much like the Movado Connect, Movado had not listed any specifications for the TH24/7You, there was therefore no information on RAM, the processor, battery life or even if it had IP68 certification. The Movado Group also announced another watch the Hugo Boss Touch, which is scheduled to be launched in the later half of the year for $395, which put it in the middle of the three watches from the Movado Group.
